Above photos show the polishing work on 2′ x10′ floor and parquet floor. For polishing, we will grind, fill the gaps and apply oil on the floor. There are two type of timber coat– oil based and water based.
Water based price will be triple compare to oil based because it can last longer and protect from scratches than oil based. For oil based, there are two colour as well- gross and satin. For old type parquet (5 pieces together) usually will apply gross and for 2′ x 10′ (Kempas) will apply satin. Satin appear darker colour more to wood colour. Gloss is like what shown on the pictures above.
For both coating, the process of sanding and varnishing include Sanding to remove old coating and dirt on the wood, sand the wood surface from rough to smooth, undercoat with filling gaps, final coat with 1-2 coating on top.
